Obituary

Terry Lawrence Barentsen, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, in Paragould, Arkansas, at the age of 84. Born on April 7, 1941, in the heartland of Nebraska.

A proud Navy veteran, Terry served his country with honor before embarking on a rewarding career at Shell Oil Refinery. His commitment to hard work and excellence was evident in all he did, leaving a lasting impression on his colleagues and all who had the pleasure of working alongside him. Terry's love for the outdoors was profound. He found solace and joy in camping under the stars, fishing in the tranquility of nature, and embarking on road trips that fed his soul with the beauty of the American landscape. An enthusiast of the shooting range, he also enjoyed cruising, with the open road being a canvas for his memories.

Terry was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Ellen Margaret Barentsen, his parents, and six siblings, whose memories he held close to his heart. The absence of their presence only deepened the appreciation he had for the bonds of family.

Terry's life was woven with the love of his family. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Kathleen Barentsen, who stood by him as a pillar of strength and partnership. His legacy continues through his loving daughters, Marie Sebesta, Tina Lorenza (Vidal), and Michelle Barentsen; his sister, Marlene Karcher; grandchildren, Terry Barentsen (Tatum Mangus), Shay Sebesta, Seth Sebesta (Ali), Michael Holland, Mariah Connors (Michael), Hope Barentsen, Delilah Montejo (Nick), Trysta Sota (Noah), Blyss Whitlow (Kevin), Karma Barentsen, Kyng Speaks, Cali Speaks, and Syven Speaks. His great-grandchildren, Brayden Connors, Anthony Montejo, Emma Montejo; and precious dog, Sally.
