Tony Arden Ruhl passed away on the 2nd of August, 2025, at the age of 57. He was born on the 11th of March, 1968.
From his early days growing up on a farm, Tony cultivated a deep-rooted connection with the land and its values, carrying the spirit of a farm boy in his heart throughout his life. His upbringing instilled in him the virtues of hard work and commitment to one's roots, qualities that would come to define his character.
As a man of faith, Tony found profound joy and purpose in serving as the President of the local chapter of the Christian Motorcycle Association. His passion for motorcycling fused seamlessly with his dedication to his faith, creating a unique avenue through which he engaged with and served his community.
Music played an equally significant role in Tony's life, his love for it as boundless as the open road. He not only reveled in listening to music but also in creating it and singing. In harmony he sang with his family and choir all his life. His skills with the trombone and bass allowed him to express his artistic side, bringing delight to all who had the pleasure of listening.
Above all, Tony was a devoted and loving father, whose children were the very essence of his happiness. He expressed to his children unwavering support. The elation he felt upon the news of his first grandbaby on the way was a testament to the boundless affection he held for his family.
After 25 years of service, Tony was nearing retirement from ARDOT. Tony was a participant in the ARDOT Roadeo, a reflection of his excellence and precision. His remarkable talents in this demanding field were recognized at both state and national levels, earning him numerous accolades and the respect of his peers. Throughout the years, Tony also worked as a long-haul truck driver. He enjoyed seeing the country he loved. He traveled all contiguous states.
Tony's approach to life was a testament to his belief in serving others through a faith-based perspective. He believed in acts of service, large and small, and he lived every day with the intention of making a positive impact on the world around him.
Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helena Ruhl; and grandparents, Herbert and Alice Watson, Earl and Geneva Ruhl.
Survivors include his children, Ashlynn (Theo) Gaul and Reece Ruhl; his first grandchild that is due in December that he was very excited about; siblings, Becky (Brian) Hartwig, Peggy (Jeff) Peterson; nieces and nephews, Jordan (Mary Catherine) Zoll, Jacqueline (Landon) Christian, Jorgi (Kendall) Lusty, Jerrett Peterson, Micah Peterson, Logan (Hilary), Caleb (Sarah), and Dylan Hartwig; and two aunts, one uncle, as well as numerous cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Jonny Surber officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Reece Ruhl, Jordan Zoll, Logan Hartwig, Caleb Hartwig, Dylan Hartwig, and Jeremy Young will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Theo Gaul, Jerrett Peterson and Kendall Lusty.
