Tyler Scott Slayton passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025. He was born November 18, 1988, to Theresa Newman and Brian Keith Slayton in Paragould, Arkansas. Tyler attended Paragould School District and Greene County Tech School District, but ended up getting his GED and took some college classes. Tyler had a few different jobs over the years, but his favorite was being a delivery driver for Pizza Inn for 10 years. He always said that he loved meeting new people and that's why he loved that job.

Tyler was carefree and lived life on his own terms. He loved listening to all genres of music. If it had a good story or good hook, he was hooked. His passion for music lead him to learn how to play the guitar. He would practice and practice, he was even writing his own songs. He always felt like he had something to say.

He always wanted to travel to see things that interested him. Recently, he took a train trip to Arizona. From there, he traveled to California and spent some time exploring Los Angeles. He absolutely loved L.A. and said it was his kind of town because there was always something to do there.

Tyler was preceded in death by his father, Keith Slayton; brother, Johnathan Slayton; and grandfather, Wendall Slayton.

Tyler leaves behind his mother and stepfather, Theresa Newman-Riley and Jeff Riley; brother, Trent Slayton (Amanda); stepsister, Savannah Riley; grandparents, Donnie and Brenda Newman; grandmother, Pat Slayton Price; and a host of other family, friends, and lifelong brothers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 3, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The memorial service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Tommy Newman officiating.
