Vada Wofford, 89, of Paragould, passed away July 30, 2013 at the Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. She was born April 13, 1924 in East Prairie, Missouri to the late Jess and Gladys Kerley. Vada learned how to paint late in life and fell in love with it. She also enjoyed puzzles, loved her grandkids thoroughly, and was of the Pentecostal faith. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald Eugene Wofford; two sons, Jessie Edward and Dwight Eugene Wofford; step-mother, Lucille Arms.Her survivors include three sons, Gary Wofford of Piggott, Dale Wofford of Paragould, and Eddie Wofford of Jonesboro; three daughters, Vernalee Stewart of Memphis, Monnie Edgar of Paragould, and Jacque Millette of Rector; three sisters, Beulah High, Inez Manus, and Dorothy Finey and 74 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 1 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Pirtle Cemetery in Peach Orchard.Her grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
