Vernon Phillips, 92 passed away May 20, 2013 at Greene Acres Nursing Home. He was born August 15, 1920 at Mounds, Arkansas to Rudy and Norma Phillips. He was a member of Union Central Church of Christ and a Navy veteran of World War II.He is survived by his wife of 55 Years, Nelma Phillips; one son and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Bonnie Phillips of Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Berlie and Vera Phillips, Herbert and Vernetta Phillips. Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister, Suvda Thomas; a brother, Jay Phillips.The family will receive friends 11 - 1 Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1 PM with Tim Wooldridge officiating. Burial will be at New Liberty Cemetery.
