Virgil L. Smith, 74, of Paragould, passed away April 22, 2021, at Arkansas Methodist Hospital.  He was born November 9, 1946, in Paragould, to Lloyd and Alma Smith. He worked to provide for his family, and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved babies and animals.

Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Wayne Mohr; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith; brother-in-law, Curt Gray; and great-nephew, Logan Roswell.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kerron Smith; son, Michael (Keena) Smith; daughter, Michelle (Jerry) Huffstutler; brother, Jimmy (Taun) Smith; sister, Mary Gray; grandchildren, Aaron (Neeley) Smith, Jacob (Courtney) Smith, Kaleb (Stephanie) Huffstutler, Emilee Trowbridge, Monica Huffstutler and Byron (Davida) Huffstutler; great-grandchildren, Brennar Virgil Smith, Natalie Trowbridge, Olivia Trowbridge, Benjimen Huffstutler and Oliver Huffstutler; numerous precious nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends Sunday, April 25, 2021, 4-6 pm at Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday, April 26, 2021, 11 am at Phillips Funeral Home with Jody Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery

Active pallbearers will be Aaron Smith, Kaleb Huffstutler, Jacob Smith, Byron Huffstutler, Cameron Gray and Tanner Gray.  Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Smith, Terry Gray and Billy Foster.
