Virgil "Pete" Turner, 84, of Paragould passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011.He was born June 24, 1926 at Paragould to Richard and Lillie Turner. Vigil was an amazing grandfather and a peace maker.He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Earline Turner; two sons, Virgil Ray Turner and Bobby Joe Turner; two brothers, Grady and Ray and one sister, Otilla Clark.Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Lee (Rita) Turner, of MI., Elhuarn "Al" (Patty) Turner, Gary (Brenda) Turner all of Paragould; one daughter, Brenda Sue Turner of Paragould and two daughter-in-laws, Cindy and Barbara who he loved like daughters; thirteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.Visitation will be from 6-9 pm, Friday, June 24 and Saturday June 25 from 11-12:30 pm at Phillips Funeral Home.Service will be at 1 pm, Saturday, June 25 at Phillips Funeral Home with Edgar Humphrey officiating.Pallbearers will be the grandchildren.Burial will follow at Browns Chapel in Paragould.For lasting memorials, the family request that donations be made to Phillips Funeral Home for final expenses.
