Virginia Lea (Pitmon) Womack, 98, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at Siloam Springs Nursing and Rehab Center in Siloam Springs, AR.She was born October 2, 1912 in Grayson, LA. to John and Hattie Pitmon and she was united in marriage to Jack Womack in 1941. They lived in Louisiana and moved to Paragould in 1960. She was a member of the Church of Christ. During her forty year nursing career she was an RN at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center for over twenty years.Survivors include one daughter, Joy Gatlin (Frank) of Paragould; one son, Jack E. (Betty) of Siloam Springs; three sisters, Gracie Roberts, Eunice Hudson, Waymel Smith; four grandchildren, Sean (Shelley) Womack, Aaron (Jennifer) Womack, Jana (Terry) Jetton, Mike (Pat) Gatlin; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Womack who died in 1993; two brothers, Obie Pitmon, Elton Pitmon and one sister, Avis Sykes.Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Saturday, March 5, in the Center Hill Chapel at Phillips Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be 10 AM, Monday, March 7, at Chatham Cemetery in Chatham, LA. with Freddie Shows officiating. The family request that memorials be made to Crowley's Ridge Academy.
