Clarence Wayne Williams, 71, of Paragould went to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. Mr. Williams was born on December 22, 1942 in Walcott, AR to Clarence and Ocil Williams. He retired in 2012 after 50 years at Emerson Electric. He was a Vietnam veteran and was of Baptist faith. He enjoyed gardening, riding his ATV (mule), and spending time at Norfork Lake.Preceding him in death were his parents, Clarence and Ocil Williams; and one brother.He is survived by his wife, Martha Williams of the home; one son, Britt Williams of Paragould; four brothers, Elwyn (Sharon), Kent (Roberta), Rondal (Pat), and Wendal Williams all of Paragould; two nieces, Lisa and Shayla; six nephews, Rodney, Kevin, Anthony, Justin, Kyle, and Corey; one step son, Stephen Jackson; three step daughters, Penny Remagen, Melody Jaques, and Kathey Richey.The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 30 at Phillips Funeral Home. The service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Terry Songer officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery with military honors.Rodney, Kevin, Anthony, Justin, and Corey Williams, and Stephen Jackson will be serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include John McCollum, Jerry Cole, and Luther Cummins.
