Obituary

William Lawrence "Larry" Larson, 79, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019. He was born to Willie and Myrtle Larson. In 1985, Larry worked until retiring at the Fort Smith Public Library in 2004. He moved to Heber Springs, then to Paragould and was treasure of the Greene County Retired Teachers organization and the Greene County Library board. Larry was a deacon of the Southern Baptist Church. He loved God, family and Arkansas. He loved the library and believed that everyone should have a chance to read. He traveled in 48 states. Larry was also known as the "Banana Bread Man."


He was preceded in death by his parents.


Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Dorothy Larson; daughter and son in law, Larisa and Mason Wallace of Paragould; brother and sister in law, Hugh Max and Betty Larson; and grandchildren, Eli Wallace and Ty Wallace.


The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 27, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Monday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Packy Magel officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
