Willis "Pete" Robert Wright, 88, of Lafe, went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 6, 2024.  He was born September 10, 1935, in Lafe, to Elvis and Lora Wright.  He attended Providence Missionary Baptist Church for many years.  He loved fishing, bird hunting, and taking care of his many farm animals.  He enjoyed having coffee with his friends at McDonald's.  He loved being with family.  He had a big heart for all his family and will be dearly missed.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Thelma Cox, Wilma Bennett, and Mozella Barber; his brothers, Vernon Wright and Othelis Wright; and step-son, Buddy Brown.

Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Becky Wright; one daughter, Nicole Wright; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Lane Wright; step-children, Jerry (Bernadine) Brown, and Debbie Hickson; four step-grandchildren, Cory Brown, Caitlin Owens, Sara Cole, and Samuel Johnston; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Juanita (George) White, Frances Highfill, and Norma Crafton; brothers, Lonnie (Connie) Wright, Dewayne (Bonnie) Wright, and Jasper (Shirley) Wright.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 10, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at noon at Phillips Funeral Home with Gary Morris officiating.  Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

Lane Wright, Rick Wright, Perry Wright, Dean Rollings, Kenny Highfill, Keith Wright, Verlon Wright, Cory Brown, and Sam Johnston have the honor to serve as pallbearers.
