Yuvonne C. Friar Smith, 88, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, December 09, 2017, at The Green House Cottages of Belle Meade.  She was born July 30, 1929, in Beech Grove, to Jess and Evaline Friar.  Yuvonne retired after 35 years from General Electric in St. Louis, Missouri.  She volunteered for hospice and worked as a Certified Nursing Assisant at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center Home Health.  Yuvonne's faith was very important to her.  She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edward Smith; parents; son, David E. Smith; sisters, Dorothy F. Garner, Mary Gifford, and Retha V. Clifton; brothers, Paul and J.B. Friar; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Survivors include her nieces, Kathleen Garner, Sandra Watson, Jenny Weatherford, and Rena Garner; nephews, J.M. Friar, Jerry Friar, Billy Friar, Tommy Friar, and Arlon Russom; sister in law, Marvine Friar; and a host of family and friends.

The family will receive friends Monday, December 11, 2017, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Mitchell officiating.  Burial will follow at Meadows Grove Cemetery in Beech Grove.
