Alan "Doc" Summers, 60, of Delaplaine, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2021. He was born March 14, 1961, to Franklin and Jessie Summers. Alan loved driving semi-trucks, woodworking, and running his sawmill. He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and he built the library at the church.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents and son, Christopher Summers.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Wilma Summers; daughter, Tiffany Summers of Seminole, TX; sister, Angie Doyle; five grandchildren; and best friends, Thomas Garrett and Susie McManners.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 30, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday, December 31, at 10:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Southern Baptist Church with Bro. Jay Hicks, Jr. and Rev. Donald Slatton officiating. Burial will follow at Epsaba Cemetery.
Steve Martin, Jeffery Martin, Samuel Martin, Derek Martin, Terry Summers, and Randy Joiner will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Thomas Garrett, Dewayne Cook, and Charles Taylor.
Lasting memorials may be made to St. Bernards Hospice.
