Alfred Earl Rowe, age 88, of Paragould passed from this life on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at The Green House Cottages of Belle Meade. He was born August 1, 1933, to Charlie and Mamie Rowe near the Stanford community in Greene County and was the youngest of six children. He was a member of the Center Hill Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years. He also served on the boards of Crowley's Ridge College and Crowley's Ridge Academy for several years. Alfred was a “people person” who had a long career in insurance and income tax services. He also enjoyed repairing clocks, watches, and jewelry, and had many, many friends and acquaintances.
Alfred was preceded in death by his wife Patricia; his parents; his brothers Macon, Chester, and Joe; and his sister Carmelita Lenderman.
He is survived by his brother Victor Rowe; his sons and daughters-in-law Tim (Debby) Rowe of Paragould and Nathan (Darla) Rowe of Franklin, TN; daughters and sons-in-law Donna (Chuck) Palmer, and Jan (Keith) White, all of Paragould. He is survived by nine grandchildren: Martin Rowe (Amy) of Tacoma, WA; David Rowe (Heather) of Watkinsville, GA; Lesli (Russell) Tillman of Buford, GA; Sarah (Mike) Simonovich of Franklin, TN; Stephanie (Donnie) Vick of Lebanon, TN; Mary (Richard) Harp of Birmingham, AL; Aaron (Betsy) Palmer of Colmar, France: Jessica (Brandon) Webb of Paragould; and Julie (Zack) McCoy of Smyrna, TN; along with twenty great-grandchildren. Alfred is also survived by several nieces and nephews who will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the staff at Belle Meade, along with the doctors and their staff for the care they provided.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Sunday, April 3, at 1:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Michael Meredith officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
