She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Grace Pogue; her parents, David and Bernice McBride; and her brother, Ronald McBride.
Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, James Gambill; her son, Steve (Christa) Gambill of Searcy; and her daughters, Sherry (Ray) Liddell of Jonesboro and Brenda (Rick) Wheeler of Paragould; six grandchildren, Stephenie (David) Eason of Searcy; Ricky Wheeler of Paragould; Brent (Tilly) Gambill of Charlotte, NC; Barbara-Ann Wheeler of Paragould; Kyle (Kristy) Liddell of Rochester, NY; and Kevin (Danielle) Liddell of Jonesboro; seven great-grandchildren, Haley (Joe) Brooks of Cabot; Braden Robinson of Searcy; Tristen and Skylar Wheeler of Paragould; Carter, Nora, and Lawson Gambill of Charlotte, NC; Willow Lewis of Jonesboro; and one newly born great-great-grandchild, Scarlett Brooks of Cabot. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews of St. Louis, MO, and many, many loving extended family and friends.
Barbara was an extraordinary wife, mother, and Maw-Maw. She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh. She knew how to light up a room and didn’t even realize how lovely she truly was.
Barbara loved the Lord with all her heart. During this recent battle with breast cancer and heart issues, God gave her such a grace and her faith was shown. She would want each and everyone one of us to ask ourselves if we have accepted Christ as our Savior and she would urge us to do so if we have not.
Arrangements: Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:30 at Phillips Funeral Home on Friday, September 17, 2021. The funeral will follow at 2:30 with Bro. Ron Pickney officiating. The graveside service will be held at Memorial Gardens following the funeral with Bro. Jerry Jolly officiating.
David Eason, Ricky Wheeler, Brent Gambill, Kyle Liddell, Braden Robinson, and Tristen Wheeler will serve as pallbearers. Kevin Liddell will serve as honorary pallbearer.
