Bert Harris

Bert Harris, age 81, of Paragould, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1938, to the late Bill and Bertha Harris. Bert enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, and driving his truck, “Mr. Chevy.” He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He served in the U.S. Army for four years.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, R. J. Harris and Doug Harris; sisters, Imalee Brummett and Joan Felty; and daughter in law, Suzanne Everett Harris.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary Harris; son, Kent Harris of Paragould; daughters, Karen Bateman and Tammy Forkum (Terry), all of Paragould; grandchildren, Cristy Harris, Brad Harris (Tiffany), Michael Harris (Sara), Mary Bateman all of Paragould; great-grandchildren, Bryson and Brooklyn Harris of Corning, Carter Harris of Caruthersville, MO, Connor Miller of Light, and Blake Harris of Paragould; and his best friends, John Purcell of Paragould, and Bo Taylor of Heflin, LA.

All memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriner’s Hospital.

The family will be hosting a memorial service at their home. Details are incomplete at this time. Arrangements are in care of Phillips Funeral Home.
