Bill Jarrett, 80, of Paragould, passed away Monday, June 28, 2021, at his residence. He was born September 24, 1940, in Paragould, to Marshall and Alpha Jarrett. Bill worked at John Deere in his younger years, then at Emerson Electric where he retired after 39 years. He was one of the earliest employees with a badge number of 1131. After retirement, Bill enjoyed spending time at yard sales, his favorite haunts like Tabor Auto Sales, with the Hardee’s breakfast bunch, and at 7 Acres Flea Market. He loved time with the gang at Norfork Lake. During retirement, he and Babs traveled to Jackson Hole, WY, San Francisco, CA, and cruised to Mexico. Bill loved animals, especially dogs.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Jarrett; mother and step-father, Alpha and Troy Barlow; and first wife and mother of his children, Diana Jarrett.
Survivors include his wife, Babs Jarrett of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Gina Jarrett of Paragould; son, Scott Gatlin of Paragould and his fiancé, Missy Cranford Clark of Monette, Arkansas; brothers and sister-in-law, Herman and Brenda Jarrett of Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Mark Jarrett of Gassville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Caroline Pillow (Justin), Ashley Gray (Carrington), and Natalie Gatlin (Michael) all of Paragould; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Josiah, Avery, Ashton, Cullen, Isaac, Owen, and Hayden; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Linda and Ken Hoppe, Debbie and Doug Robeson, Bridget and Cal Newsom; special nieces, Carly Newsom, Lily Slay, and Jovie Newsom in addition to numerous other nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 30, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Tim Jarrett sharing memories. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
