Bob Pillow

Bob Pillow, beloved family man and lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, passed away on August 28, 2023. Born on September 30, 1943, Bob spent his life cherishing his family, enjoying the great outdoors, and rooting for his favorite baseball team.

Bob was the cherished son of the late C. A. and Imogene Pillow. He was a loving brother to his late siblings, Marlin and Clifton Pillow, and a devoted husband to his late wife, Judith Pillow. He was also a doting grandfather, who suffered the heartbreak of losing his grandson, Peyton Kelley.

He was a proud father to his daughters, Terry Kelley (Steven) and Sherry Pillow. Bob was also a grandfather to Layne and Emma Kelley. His grandkids were his pride and joy, and he took great delight in watching them show livestock, passing on his love for animals and the outdoors to the next generation. Bob was always there to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement, and he instilled in his family the values of love, resilience, and the importance of sticking together.

Bob was an ardent supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals. His love for the team was infectious, and many a summer evening was spent with family and friends, cheering on the Cardinals from his living room or from the stands at the stadium.

Bob was also a man who loved being outside. Whether he was tending to his garden, going for a walk, or just sitting on his porch enjoying the sunshine, he found peace and joy in nature.

In his passing, Bob leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and family unity. His family will remember him as a loving father and grandfather, a steadfast friend, and a man who loved life to the fullest. His memory will live on in the hearts of his daughters, Terry and Sherry, his grandchildren, Layne and Emma, and all who knew and loved him.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 31, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A procession will leave Phillips Funeral Home for a graveside service at Croft Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Art Smith officiating.

Nick Fox, Josh Crossno, Casey Rogers, Rickey Ellis, Heath Vines, and Ray Stricker will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Layne Kelley, Steven Kelley, and Chad Arnhart.
