Brenda Shreene Hawkins Preston

Brenda Shreene Hawkins Preston, lovingly known as Brenda Hawkins, passed away on May 17, 2023. Born on June 22, 1964, she was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Brenda was predeceased by the father of her children, Barry Cole; nephews, Chad Hawkins, John Eric Hawkins, and Jerad Cole; and grandparents, E. J. and Morena Hawkins, Frank, and Erma Polsgrove. She is survived by her mother and father, Johnny and Melba Hawkins; her sons, L. B. Cole, Benjamin Cole, and Adam Preston (Brianna); her daughter, Breanna Cole; her brothers, Johnny Hawkins Jr. (Becky), Curtis Hawkins (Donna), and Martin Hawkins (Jamie); her grandchildren, Macie Raye Arant, Livvi Pearl-Lyn Clark, Bella Taylor Faye Cole, and Evie Kate Cole; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a woman with a heart full of love, especially for her family. She cherished her role as "Mimi" to her beloved grandchildren and enjoyed watching their ball games. Her family-oriented nature was evident in the many memories and laughter shared at family gatherings, where she would often be found surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and extended family.

A lover of the outdoors, Brenda enjoyed swimming and being in the water. She found great joy in camping and going to the lake, where she would spend quality time with her family and friends, creating lasting memories.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 22, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Albert Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
