It is with a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of Bruce Rippy on January 30, 2024, in Morganfield, Kentucky. He was born on March 10, 1958, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Bruce is preceded in death by his mother, Velma Smittle, and his father, Jack Rippy.
He is survived by his oldest sister and brother-in-law, Gloranna and Hollas Reynolds; his sister and brother-in-law, Deborah and Larry Massey; his loving wife of 47 years, Debbie Rippy; his son, Christopher Rippy and his fiancée, Nicole Gibson; his granddaughters, Luna Rippy and Hazel Gibson; and his fur baby, Zia Rippy.
Bruce was a passionate mechanic who loved to hunt and work on motor vehicles. He enjoyed watching westerns and cleaning guns in his free time. He was always more than happy to help others who could benefit from his experience with vehicles.
Bruce was a proud member of the graduating Class of 1976 Lafe High School.
Bruce will always be remembered for his caring and joyful nature, his love for his friends and family, and his playful nature. The family will receive friends Monday, February 5, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with David Poe officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Christopher Rippy, Austin Massey, Steve Massey, David Howe, Ronnie Howe, and Scott Howe will serve as pallbearers. Gary Gerdes, Kelly Rippy, Lindel Stephens, Rudy Davidson, Robert Wrather, Dennis Routon, and Rick Davidson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
