Calvin "Buddy" Cupp

Calvin “Buddy” Cupp, 90, of Paragould, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, May 03, 2023.  He was born November 14, 1932, to Alvin and Flora Cupp.  Calvin worked at Emerson Electric as a manufacturing engineer.  He retired in 1995 after 38 ½ years.  He found solace in the beauty of spending time with his Lord and his family.  He enjoyed working in his shop, fishing, camping, and many other activities.  He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather anyone could ask for.   

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Wanda Pillow; one brother-in-law, Glen Pillow; and one sister-in-law, Lenda Cupp.  

Survivors include the love of his life, Patsy Cupp.  Calvin and Patsy were married on June 12, 1954.  They have been happily and lovingly married for 68 years and 11 months.  He is also survived by his daughter, Kim (Philip) Russell.  His two sons, Paul (Aimee) Cupp and Sean (Brandy) Cupp all of Paragould.  Seven grandchildren, Blaine (Cassey) Russell, Marissa Russell and fiancé Casey Oost, Ryan (Shana) Cupp, Kyle Cupp, and Emma (Conner) Walters all of Paragould.  Alex (Payton) Free of Romance, AR and Reed Cupp of Paragould.  Two great granddaughters, Maggie Mae Cupp and Kora Bexlee Russell and one great grandson on the way.  Two brothers, Dillman Cupp of Paragould and CA (Charlotte) Cupp of Lakeland, Tennessee.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 4, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Phillips Funeral Home with Jerry Thompson officiating.  Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Paul Cupp, Sean Cupp, Blaine Russell, Ryan Cupp, Kyle Cupp, Philip Russell, and Reed Cupp.  Honorary pallbearers are Marissa Russell, Emma Walters, and Alex Free.
