Charles “Chick” DeHart, 85, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2020. He was born November 19, 1934, in Stanford, to Cullen and Sarah DeHart. Chick proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Emerson Electric after 39 years of service. Working on antique tractors, gardening, swinging in his shop swing, and having a fish fry with his many family and friends were among his favorite past times. Chick was a loving husband, father, and doting grandfather of five.
Chick was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joe, James, J.D., and Donnie; and sister, Jackie.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Gwenda DeHart of the home; sons and daughters in law, Barry and Phyllis DeHart of Piggott, and Brad and Karen DeHart of Paragould; daughter and son in law, Sherri and Dave McNamara; brother, Dallas DeHart; sisters, Francis Dacus and Cathy Rothe; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Alexa, Casen, Mallorie, and Carly.
The family will receive friends Saturday, September 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Sunday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Art Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery.
