Clifton E. Carter, Sr., 80, of Marmaduke, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. He was born September 9, 1941, to Reo and Lorene Carter.
62 years married to his best friend of love of his life, a loving husband, father, brother, and friend to many. Being a farmer was his calling, not just growing food and fiber to help feed the world, but also helping to grow others by discipling them and showing them to Jesus. He loved Jesus, his family, country, a good crappie hole, and lived his life with the attitude of "It's better to give than receive." He always said, "To always be honest even if the truth hurts. You can measure a man's impact by the confidence in his word." He didn't just say this, he lived it. He leaves a legacy that will live for all of eternity because his legacy is one that led others to Jesus. If he could leave the world with one last piece of advice, it would be "SHOW THEM JESUS."
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Clinton Edward Carter; and grandson, Jonathan Healy; and brothers, Ricky Carter, Billy Carter, and Nicky Carter.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margie Carter; son, Clifton Carter, Jr. (Darla); daughters, Penny Johnson (Kenard), Tammy Carter; siblings, Bobby Carter, Patsy Merrell, Gary Carter, Donnie Carter, Roger Carter, Tony Carter, and Lucky Carter; special aunt, Dot Strickland; grandchildren, Zachary Carter (Chelsea), Elijah Carter (Morgan), and Kailee Zorn (Matt); and great-grandchildren, Austin Healy, Katelyn Healy, Paisley Carter, Presley Carter, and Jonathan Zorn.
