Danny Barnhart Obituary

Danny “Pud” Barnhart, 74, of Marmaduke, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023.  He was born March 13, 1949, in Marmaduke, to Clifford and Nellie Barnhart.  Danny co-owned Frank’s Transmission with Jerry DeFries for years.  He loved traveling to Norfork Lake with his family.  Danny loved to be outside mowing the yard.  He had a life-long love of cars.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry and James Barnhart.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Laveda J. (Edmiston) Barnhart; daughter and son-in-law, Jamie L. and Edward Bennett; sister, Frances Mitchell; and grandchild, Amelia G. Bennett.

The family will receive friends Saturday, April 1, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 2, at Phillips Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Holcomb and Bro. Kim Bridges officiating.  Burial will follow at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery in Marmaduke. 

Scott Mitchell, Jerome Mitchell, Dale Mitchell, Jack Fletcher, Zach Mitchell, and Casey Fletcher will serve as pallbearers.  Mike Hedge, Roger Forbs, Jr., Gary Priest, Tim Gardner, and Jimmy Hardin will serve as honorary pallbearers.

If one wishes to make a memorial, Danny would be honored by contributions to the American Kidney Fund.
