Danny James Camp, 72, of Paragould, passed away on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. He was born October 27, 1949, to J.B. and Marcella Camp. After graduating from Central High School in Helena, Arkansas, he spent his career as a conductor for Missouri Pacific and Union Pacific Railroads. Danny loved all things outdoors including kayaking, hunting, boating, motorcycle riding, playing guitar, and spending time at the creek with his dog, Rocket. He was happiest at the lake.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Roger Camp.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Kathy Camp; son, Aubrey Camp; daughter, Christie Covey (Jade); stepdaughter, Lara Vaughn-Ray (Jonathan); brother, Kevin Camp; sisters, Brenda Fowler, Judy Owen; grandchildren, Landon Covey, Emmaline Covey, Anaiah Camp, Zaven Camp; and his dog, Rocket.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 6, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Charles Stoddard, his Pastor from Southside Community Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Paragould.
Jade Covey, Landon Covey, Cody Cox, Mac Crawford, Danny Felty, and Andy Swindle will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Jonathan Ray, Chris Parker, Darryl Goodman, Jason Owen, Rick Cox, Randy Gray, Casey Gray, Dale Lyles, and Ronnie Hopper.
