Darrell Dean McCoy, 75, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born February 16, 1946, in Paragould, to Austin and Dora McCoy. Darrell was a U.S. Army Veteran. He worked as an electrician and attended church at The Shepard’s Chapel in Gravette, Arkansas. Darrell was a loving husband and a wonderful, kind, honest man.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, and nephew, Nicky Paul McCoy.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sharon McCoy of the home; brothers, Dr. James McCoy of Conway, Arkansas, and Bill McCoy of Paragould; nephews, Rick McCoy, David McCoy, and Jerry Don Leisure; nieces, Gayla Leisure Hale, Janet Leisure Grooms, Paige Leisure Templeton; numerous other nieces; and a great-nephew, Cavenaugh McCoy.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 23, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. A procession will leave at 2:00 p.m. for a graveside service at Woods Chapel Cemetery with Don Martin officiating. Burial will follow with military honors.
Cavenaugh McCoy, Bill McCoy, Rick McCoy, David McCoy, David Fletcher, and Joseph Grooms will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Joey Grooms and Trey Joshlin.
