David Ray Cross, Sr., 69, of Paragould, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020. He was born December 16, 1950, to Bufford and Cora Cross. David was loved by so many. He was fun loving, loved to hunt and fish, and be outdoors. He was old school, stern and stubborn, but a hard-working man. He never met a stranger and anyone that knew him, loved him. David would do anything for anyone. He had a very outgoing personality. He was definitely a jack of all trades. He will be missed by us all. He dearly loved all of his kids, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and especially his little Daya.
David was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; one brother; and daughter, Melissa Cross.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Elva Cross; sons, David Cross, Jr. (Becky), Loy Cross (Shana), Nathan Cross (Jene), Douglas Blackwell (Jimmie Lou), Rodney Bell (Micah), Shane Bell; daughters, Donna Buys (Brandon), Kim Huntley (Jerry), Nikki Cross (Vince), Kathy Lewis (Gary), Laura Duke (Keith); brothers, Floyd Cross, Gene Cross, Larry Cross, Dennis Cross, Charles Cross, Villis Cross; sisters, Clara Richardson, Helen Gurley, Nancy Cross; twenty-two grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 4, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Dale Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.
Wade Lewis, Cody Lewis, Bobby Weaver, Logan Cross, Chris Buys, and David Paul Cross will serve as pallbearers.
