Deborah "Debbie" Janice Gillean

Deborah “Debbie” Janice Gillean, 70, passed peacefully from this life and into the arms of Jesus on April 15, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, where many loved ones were able to say their final good-byes in the days before her death. Debbie, as she was known to friends and family, was born on August 3, 1953, to Lester and Bonnie Harrison in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Debbie graduated from Bay High School and entered the work force. She retired from Wal-Mart in 2018 after serving as the Assistant Manager in Walnut Ridge for many years. Debbie married Eddie Gillean in 2004 and they shared a love of fishing and all things outdoors. She was known to her co-workers as tough, but fair, and was a servant leader. Her work ethic, loyalty, love for her friends and family, and dedication to the Lord was evident to all who knew her. Her family was the light of her life.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Eddie Gillean; her daughters, Rachel (Devin) and April (Tommy); step son, Dennis (Lindsey); step daughters, Sarah (Matt), and Laura; grandsons, Isaac (Libby), Elijah, Samuel, Josiah, Eli, and Jeremiah; step-grandchildren, Danielle (Tyler), Haley, Kaylan (Erin), Julia, Zadyen, Jake, Luke, Ashlyn; step great-grandchild, Penelope; brothers, Gaylon (Rhonda), Ronnie (Alice); and a pretty little grand-dog named Lucy.

A celebration of life service will be held at the Main Street Church of Christ in Walnut Ridge on Saturday, April 20. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and will be followed by the service at 12:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent to 319 E Main Street, Walnut Ridge, AR. Donations made in her honor should be directed to Children’s Homes, Inc. (who assisted in the adoption of two of her grandsons) at 5515 Walcott Road, Paragould, AR, 72450.
