Dora Mae Smith

Dora Mae Smith, 66, of Paragould, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, March 10, 2023. She was born May 8, 1956, to Elmer and Mary Copeland. Dora enjoyed sewing, quilting, canning, and gardening. She was a good cook; chocolate gravy and chicken & dumplings were her specialty. She was a wonderful caregiver that liked to take care of everyone.

Dora was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Albert Copeland, Raymond Copeland; and special daughter, Samantha Barnum.

Survivors include her husband, James Smith; son, Mark Smith (JoAnne) of Paragould; daughters, Regena Caughlin of Port Angelus, WA, Mary Murphy (Mike) of Paragould; brothers, Bryant Copeland (Kathy), Ronnie Copeland (Cynthia); sisters, Roxie Ellis (Layman), Diane Partin (Jim); sister-in-law, Lois Copeland; grandchildren, Heather Caughlin of Oak Grove, KY, Charlie Murphy of Paragould, Anthony Robinson of Paragould, Rebecca (Hunter) Cravens of Brookland, Jessica Smith of VA, Courtney Smith of VA, Emily Barnum of the home Landon Hathcoat; 3 great-grandchildren; special friends, Karen Rogers, Vonda Wilson, Yvonna Markum, Wilma Osbon, and Becky Clift; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 13, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, March 14, at 3:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Everett Isom and Jim Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.
