Elnora "Puggy" Buck

Elnora “Puggy” (Mitchell) Buck, a daughter, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt, a cousin and a friend. Puggy was born on August 28th, 1939, in Reeves, Missouri. During her school years at Reeves, she loved to play basketball and was the best in her school, as she always said. Puggy moved to St. Louis when she was 17 years old. She enjoyed working in a candy factory, making Christmas candy. It was in St Louis where she met the love of her life, Alvin Samuel Buck.

Puggy and Alvin were married in East St. Louis on June 21st, 1958. They continued living in St. Louis with Alvin working for McDonald Douglas and Puggy working for Hostess Cupcakes. They welcomed their one and only son, Ricky Samuel Buck, on Puggy’s birthday, August 28th, 1959. In 1975, they moved to California. Puggy and Alvin maintained homes both in Arkansas and California after Alvin retired. She has three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In 2018, Puggy and Alvin said goodbye to California permanently and moved to their home in Beech Grove. The love of her life passed in 2019 and her son, Ricky, moved from California to Beech Grove to take care of her and the farm.

On March 23rd, 2024 Puggy went to be with our Lord and Savior. Our hearts are rejoicing that she is with God in heaven and the love of her life, Alvin.

Puggy was preceded in death by her parents, Fay and Opal Mitchell; husband, Alvin Buck; father and mother in-law, Leland Sr. and Alta Buck; brothers-in-law, Sonny, Gaylon, Jackie, and Jerry Buck.

Survivors include her son Ricky (Ruth) Buck; brothers, Gary (Betty) Mitchell, Mark (Vicky) Mitchell; sisters, Pam Ryan, Penny (Rick) Sinclair; grandchildren, Tasha Buck, Ricky Samuel Buck, Jr., Cody Alvin Buck; great grandchildren, Jonathan Trillo, Bentley Alvin Buck, Ellie Elnora Buck; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 29, 2024 from 2:00p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3:00p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.

Tim Buck, Daniel Gibson, Anthony Buck, Brad Buck, Brian Buck, and Ricky Samuel Buck, Jr., will serve as pallbearers. 

Following the service the Family would like invite everyone for a meal and time for fellowship at New Life Fellowship Church at 2515 Rector Rd. Paragould, Ar.
