Eugene Allred Obituary

Eugene Allred, 75, of Walcott, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021.  He was born July 25, 1946, in Walnut Ridge, to Jim and Rellie Mae Allred.  Eugene enjoyed woodworking, farming, and raising horses and cows.  He was a true patriarch of his family; always taking care of and being active in their lives.  History and genealogy were areas of interest to Eugene.  Above all, serving the Lord was most important to Eugene.  He hoped during the difficult times of Covid people would turn to Jesus.

As a proud patriot, Eugene joined the U.S. Army at the age of 17.  He was stationed in Korea and served in the Vietnam War.  Eugene worried very much about the United States and wanted to spread love for our country.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 48 years, Glenda Allred; sister, Kathy Harrelson; an infant brother; and brother-in-law, Laverne Varner.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Deanna Allred; daughter and son-in-law, Emma and Boyce Cate; brothers, Larry Allred (Kathy), Sonny Allred ( Sharon), Randy Allred (Jan); sister, Midgie Countess (Jim); grandchildren, Lowin Cate (Katie Green), Rebeckha Mae Eason (Steve), Boyce Edward Cate (Kiana), Madison Allred, and Katlyn Allred; great-grandchildren, Nathan Eason and Benjamin Allred Dean Cate; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

A private graveside service under the direction of Phillips Funeral Home will be held at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
