Eula Mae Olive Fruchey, age 93, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side, in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 29, 2022. She was born May 23, 1929, in England, Arkansas, to George Henry Olive and Etta Mae McPherson Olive.
Eula was a long time member of Grace Baptist Church and she loved the Lord and her family above all else. She was a great cook and she loved to host big family gatherings where she was especially known for her delicious, handmade tamales. Eula was a talented ceramist and she spent many years creating beautiful ceramic pieces. Her family will forever treasure the pieces she made for them. She loved to spend time with her family, brag on her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids, and play cards and beanbag baseball with her friends. She was loved by many and she will be greatly missed.
Eula is survived by her children, Stan (Sally) Fruchey of Hurricane, West Virginia, Sharon (Danny) Andrews of Walnut Ridge, and Lyn (Regina) Fruchey of Little Rock; eight grandchildren, Cheyenne (Brett) Winstead of Jonesboro, Danny (Amber) Andrews of Wolcott, Sandy (Scott) Havens of Paragould, Kendall (Vanessa) Fruchey of Humble, Texas, Chris (Kristin) Fruchey of Leander, Texas, Rachel (Evan) Bell of Conway, Anna (Jonathan) Covington of Roland, and Luke (Hailee) Fruchey of Conway; and 17 great-grandchildren, Payden, Gannon, and Ethan Winstead, Abbey Andrews, Drew Havens, Genny and Quinn Fruchey, Zoe Fruchey, Seth, Audrey, Joshua, and Noah Bell, Eden, Caleb, and Eleanor Covington, and Ivy and June Fruchey; a sister-in-law, Vacle Olive, her “Senior Bees” sisters, and a host of other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, William Olive, Olan Olive, and Ruby Cole; her husband, Wilbur “Dube” Fruchey, and her son, Ty McKinnon.
The family would like to thank the staff at Green House cottages of Belle Meade in Paragould and Dierksen Hospice for their care and compassion in her final days.
A celebration of Eula’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Phillips Funeral Home in Paragould, Arkansas, with Gerald James officiating. Interment will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Paragould.
