Geraldine “Gerry” Manchester Miller, age 83, of Paragould, Arkansas, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, at Ridgecrest Nursing Home. Mrs. Miller, daughter of Troy Clyde Manchester, Sr. and Nellie (Vance) Manchester, was born on October 1, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri. In her senior year of high school, she married Trevelyn Russell Miller on December 17, 1955, in San Diego, California. They moved to Maine where she finished high school. Since then, they moved numerous places together while she cared for her husband and her children. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and various forms of crafting. She enjoyed reading and teaching Bible classes. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Trevelyn Russell Miller, of Paragould; two daughters, Denise Stroud, of Paragould; Karen Felzien and her husband Jeff, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; one son, Mark Wayne Miller, of Isleton, California; five grandchildren, David Stroud, of Jonesboro; Sarah Stroud, of Jonesboro; Rylee Giffin and her husband Casey, of Pensacola, Florida; Menolly Felzien, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; and Kerra Felzien, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; her brother, Dwight Perkins and his wife Corrine, of Newton, Mississippi; her brother-in-law, Orville Williamson, of Alpine, California; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition of her parents and her father and mother-in-law, Trevelyn Keith and Cleo Miller; also, Mary Elizabeth Miller; Geraldine was preceded in death by her siblings: Troy Clyde Manchester, Jr., Shirley Ann Mabbett, and Patricia Sue Williamson.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 25, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at noon at Phillips Funeral Home with Michael Meredith and David Deffenbaugh officiating. Micah Brinkley will lead congregational singing. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
Eric Alexander, Tony Cable, Melvin Howard, Chuck Palmer, Lanny Stewart, and Terry Tripp will serve as pallbearers. Dean Tripp will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made in Geraldine’s memory to Children’s Homes, Inc., 5515 Walcott Rd., Paragould, AR 72450.
