James "Bud" W. Jones, Jr.

James “Bud” Willie Jones, Jr., of Cardwell, Missouri, passed away Friday, January 10, 2020, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.  He was born September 27, 1942, in Bunny, Arkansas, to James Sr. and Suzanne Jones.  Bud retired from Emerson Electric with over 30 years of service.  He was a member of Cockrum Church of Christ in Cardwell.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and sneaking treats to his granddog, Waldo.  Bud loved spending time with his family, especially watching his grandchildren playing sports and dancing.  He enjoyed listening to the Cardinals on the radio and was a guitar player.  Bud loved to talk and never met a stranger.    

Bud was preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant brothers; infant twin siblings; brother, Barney Jones; sister in law and brother in law, June and Bill Pemberton; sister in law, Nadine Mitchell; father in law and mother in law, Lynn and Essie Mitchell; and niece, Phyllis Higgins.

Survivors include Bud’s wife of 57 years, Gloria Jones; daughter and son in law, Kimberly and Josh Dowler; grandchildren, Braden James Dowler, Eli Joshua Dowler, and Clara Lynn Dowler; and sisters, Christine Wycoff, Wanda Renfrow, Lois Jones, Sally Joann McKenzie, Jenny Gooch, Violet Hassler, and Sharon Mosley.  He was Uncle Bud to 17 nieces and nephews; 35 great nieces and nephews; 22 great-great nieces and nephews; and 19 great-great-great nieces and nephews.

 The family will receive friends Monday, January 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, at Phillips Funeral Home with Eddie Dunigan officiating.  Burial will follow at Mountain Home Cemetery in Paragould.
