James "Jim" C. Thomason

James “Jim” C. Thomason, 89, of Paragould, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021.  He was born September 1, 1932, in Marmaduke, to Truman and Flossie Thomason.  Jim was a Navy Veteran who served in the Korean War.  He was a retired farmer.  Jim loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.  Going to the lake was a special time with family.  He was a member and long-time elder at Union Central Church of Christ.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, William Royce Thomason; half-brother, J.D. Thomason; and half-sister, Bernice Thomason.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Katie Thomason; daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Chester Morten, Kathy and Scotty Hickson; grandchildren, Clint and Mari Morten, Ginger and Evan Smith, Jennifer and Dustin Hedge, Brooke and Andy Hoskins, Nathan and Madison Hickson, Noah Hickson, and Lindsey Hickson; great-grandchildren, Ali, Cassie, Gabby, Mikayla, Caleb, Kateleigh, Kyler, Macklyn, Linnik, and Graham.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  A graveside service will follow at Harvey’s Chapel Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. with Scotty Hickson, Evan Smith, and Dustin Hedge officiating.

Clint Morten, Chester Morten, Scotty Hickson, Dustin Hedge, Evan Smith, and Andy Hoskins will serve as pallbearers.
