Jane Ann (Hughes) Turnbow

Jane Ann (Hughes) Turnbow, 86, of Paragould, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January 25th, 2021.  She was born July 15, 1934, in Walcott, to Acton and Eula Hughes.  She was a proud descendant of Benjamin Crowley.  Jane was a talented musician; she loved sharing her passion of singing and playing the piano.  She often played and sang for family and friends and at Walcott Baptist Church and later at Rosewood Baptist Church.  Her gospel quintet, The Golden Tones, recorded a number of albums highlighting their devotion to God and performed, among other places, on stage at the Grand Ole Opry.  She was a blessing to everyone that knew her.  Janie’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Jane Ann was preceded in death by her parents and son, Ronnie Reeves.

Janie’s love for her family and Jesus Christ never wavered.  She will be greatly missed by her family:  husband of 40 years, Don Turnbow; children, Randy Reeves (Darlene), Robin Reeves (Stella), Andrea Reeves Smith, Adina Laird (Scott) and Tim Turnbow; brothers, Bob Hughes (Glenna), Dewey Hughes (Sherry); sister Judy Gramling (Marion).  Her 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren will dearly miss her hugs, singing, piano playing and lemon icebox pie. 

The funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 28, at Phillips Funeral Home with Heath Vines officiating.  Burial will follow at Warren’s Chapel Cemetery. 

Jeremy Mangrum, Nathan Anderson, Acton Harrison, Seth Harrison, Carl Reeves, Cole Sullivan, Bill McLaughlin, and Kyle Richey will serve as pallbearers.  The men of Rosewood Baptist Church, Sam Poe, and Steve Smoker will serve as honorary pallbearers.
