Jerry Dewayne Terry passed away April 24, 2022, at the age of 81. He was born January 10, 1941, to A.E. and Hattie Terry. Jerry farmed for 26 years then began working for Baker Implement where he was still employed. He loved remodeling old vehicles and traveled many miles looking for his next project. When not working on a vehicle, he could be found tinkering in his shop or mowing a yard. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He loved the Lord, loved life, and lived it every day.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters, Rosie DeWhitt, Josie Gardner, and Eula Dean Holcomb; 5 brothers, Alvin Terry, George Terry, Gene Terry, Melvin Terry, and David Terry.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Terry; daughters, Stacey (Barry) Jackson, Danita (Duane) Gibson; grandson, Charlton Gibson; sisters-in-law, Louise Terry; Karen Daniels (Butch), Patsy Yates (J.D.); and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 26, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Phillips Funeral Home with Tommy Toombs officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens.
Charlton Gibson, Brad DeHart, Steve Riggs, Phillip Keeling, Butch Daniels, and Richard Dicken will serve as pallbearers. Larry Ryan, David Hinson, and Grayson Daniels will serve as honorary pallbearers.
