Jimmie Lee Sanders, Sr., 85, of Paragould, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord Sunday, December 15, 2019. He was born June 17, 1934, in Cardwell, Missouri, to Albert and Dorothy Sanders. Jimmie worked at the Chevrolet plant in Flint, Michigan, as a tool and die maker until his retirement. He lived in Linden, Michigan, before moving to Paragould, Arkansas. After the death of his first wife, Alberta Lucille Barnes Sanders, in 1992, he married Wanda Sanders in 1994. A few years later, they moved to Mountain View, Arkansas, where he enjoyed playing music. He was a good musician, singer, and an avid guitarist. Jimmie and Wanda became winter Texans in Mission, Texas, for 15 years where he made many friends from all over the United States. Jimmie continued to sing and play music with his wife, Wanda, in Texas. He loved the Lord, music, his wife, and his family.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Dorothy Sanders; first wife, Alberta Lucille Barnes Sanders; and sister, Sandra Peck.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Sanders; brother, Billy Hugh Sanders; sons, Neal Kent Sanders and Jimmie Lee Sanders, Jr. and his wife, Ronda; daughter, Teresa Kay Sanders Shoemaker and her husband, Tony; grandchildren, Jamie Sanders Giampia, John Robert Hamilton Sanders, III, Anthony “Paul” Shoemaker, Jr., Alexis Sanders, Thomas Neal Shoemaker, Charles Sanders, Aaron Kent Sanders, and Amanda Marie Sanders; three great grandsons; five step children and nine step grandchildren.
Jimmie will be cremated and laid to rest next to his first wife, Alberta, at Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell, Missouri.
