Jimmy Dale Rogers, 66, of Paragould, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023. He was born November 3, 1956, in Paragould. Family was Jim’s number one priority in life. Every day began and ended with the comfort and safety of his loved ones in mind. His passion for serving others showed in his National Guard service and his choice of career as a police officer. He retired with the rank of Captain from the Paragould Police Department after 20 years of service. Jim was an avid bass fisherman and hunter, a passion he took pride in passing onto his grandson.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Rogers, and mother, Velma Tripp.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Michelle Rogers; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie West and Tommy Huffstetler; son and family, Shane and Alisha Rogers; grandchildren, Levi West, Kendall Huffstetler, and Taylor Huffstetler; brother-in-law, Richard Taylor; and brother, Terry Rogers.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 2, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 3, at Phillips Funeral Home with Jeff Tyner, Tony Williams, and Mark Walker officiating. Burial will follow with Police Honors at Linwood Cemetery.
Levi West, Aaron Gamber, Omer Overbay, Chris West, Fred Poindexter, and Greg Trout will serve as pallbearers. Sheriff Brad Snyder, Police Chief Todd Stovall, Captain Brent McCain, Captain Jason Elms, Scott Snyder, Jeff Tyner, Terry Grooms, Phillip Faulkner, Greg Schug, and Tony Williams will serve as honorary pallbearers.
