Larry Stanley

Larry Stanley, 76, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2019. He was born December 28, 1942, to R.C. (Bob) and Rozella Stanley. In his younger years, Larry was a steel worker in California. He supervised in the building of the Coronado Bay Bridge. Larry managed Paragould Auto Auction for a number of years. Larry was the proud owner and operator of Stanley Saw Mill for 40 years. It was Larry’s passion for his business to flourish. He was a dedicated businessman. Larry loved drag racing and collecting antiques, whether he needed them or not. Larry cherished his family, especially time spent with his grandchildren. His dog, Rusty, was faithfully by his side at all times. He was a member of First Assembly of God.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Betty Stanley; son, Robert “Gene” Stanley; and sister, Rhonda Hardin.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Joyce Stanley; sons and daughters in law, Greg and Debbie Stanley, Darren and Dena Sellars, and Shane Sellars; grandchildren, James Stanley, Heather Hill, Brittany Stanley, Mia Sellars, Jess Sellars, Carson Sellars, and Eric Roberts; seven great-grandchildren; special family friend, Janie Huffman; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 10, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Kenneth Johnson, Paul Johnson, and Darren Sellars officiating. Burial will follow at New Friendship Cemetery.

Greg Stanley, Shane Sellars, Darren Sellars, Eric Roberts, Tyler Clarady, and Marcus Taylor will serve as pallbearers. Tim Cooper will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
