Loran Breckenridge Obituary

Loran Breckenridge was born on June 2nd, 1946, to Shirley and Rose Mott-Breckenridge. He departed this life of September 10th, 2021, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. On October 26th, 1967, Loran was united in marriage to Mary Casteel, which was one of the best days of their lives. Loran and Mary shared 53 (almost 54) years of marriage. From this union they were blessed two children Steve Breckenridge and Lorna Breckenridge (Jaco). Loran retired from Monroe Automotive Company after 39 and a half years of dedicated service. He was also a devoted member of Bethel Church of Christ.

Loran is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Breckenridge, of the family home; one son, Steve and wife Sundi Breckenridge of West Plains, Missouri; one son-in-law, Frankie Jaco of Paragould, Arkansas; two grandsons, Zac and wife Natalie Breckenridge of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Dugan Kelly of West Plains, Missouri; three granddaughters, Emma and husband Jacob Houston of Paragould, Arkansas, Amelia Hill, of Paragould, Arkansas, and Rebekah Jaco of Senath, Missouri; great (to him they were better than great) grandchildren, Zoey, Marley, and Jax Houston and Taegan Hill all of Paragould, Arkansas, and Isabelle Breckenridge of Jonesboro, Arkansas; three sisters, Bonnie Gatlin of Paragould, Arkansas, Reda East of St. Louis, Missouri, and Rosemary and husband Leo Hankins of Paragould, Arkansas; and one brother, Larry and wife Flossie Breckenridge of Paragould, Arkansas.

Loran was greeted in Heaven by the angels and his family that went before him including his parents, two brothers, Roy and Excel Breckenridge, and his precious daughter, Lorna Kay.

Loran was an extraordinary Husband, Father and Papa. He loved his family deeply and always put God first. He looked forward to going to church to worship and fellowship with his brothers and sisters in Christ and was disappointed when he was no longer able to attend due to his health. Loran never met a stranger and had a special way of making everyone he encountered feel loved and valued. Loran always had a hug and a smile ready to greet you and took every opportunity to remind those around him that he loved them. Loran was the first one to the table and the last one to leave because he enjoyed a good meal, good company and appreciated the hard work and the love that went into its preparation.

During Loran’s battle with cancer he was never fearful because he knew his destination and was always quick to tell you he was going to spend eternity in Heaven. Loran is now reunited and rejoicing with his beautiful daughter, his parents and brothers.
