Marlon Beasley, 79, of Paragould, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022. He was born October 11, 1942, in Paragould to James and Sterlean Beasley. Marlon attended Greene County Tech and served in the Army National Guard from 1959 to 1962. Among his jobs were carpentry with his dad, White’s Shoe Factory, field hand, Emerson Electric where he retired after 22 ½ years, and finally the Christopher Homes where he was a custodian. Over the years, Marlon enjoyed working on cars, raising coon dogs, coon hunting, camping, and fishing. He liked to talk on the CB radio where he was known as “Bachelor Man”, but he was also known as “Weasel.” Marlon loved music of all kinds and enjoyed watching westerns. He was a simple man living a simple life, requiring very little of life’s comforts.
Marlon was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arlie Jay Beasley and Gerald Beasley; infant son, Marlon Jeffery Beasley; son, William Beasley; and grandson, Ryan Beasley.
Survivors include his son Larry Beasley; daughter and son-in-law, Shona and Brad Adams; brother, James Beasley; sister, Velma Autry; grandchildren, Amber Green, Jennifer Adams, and Stacy Adams; and great-grandchildren, Treyson Rodden and Carly Rodden.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 31, from 10:30 a.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at noon at Phillips Funeral Home with Jesse Dollars officiating. Burial will be private.
