On November 11th, 2023, Melissa Michelle Sisco passed away in her sleep at her home in Paragould, Arkansas. Melissa was born July 3rd, 1974 in Newport, Arkansas, to Johnny Jett Johnson and Patricia Lee Johnson (Haag). She was preceded in death by her father, Johnny Johnson and her husband, Wes Sisco. She is survived by her mother, Patricia Haag; her brothers, Paul Russel and Randy Russell (Patrice); her sons, Tyler Sisco (Emma) and Patrion Williams; her daughters, Emma Sisco, Abbi Sisco and Lexi Sisco; her grandchildren, Raylan Quinn, Chandler Benson, and D’Marcus Williams; close friend, Leigh Benson; and a host of extended family and friends.
Melissa’s life calling was caring for others. In her many years as an educator, she was a calming presence, trusted confidant, and guiding hand to a generation of students.
Melissa loved her kids, and her kids loved her. As a teacher, she became a Mom to Many.
In 2011, Melissa decided to retire from teaching to become a foster parent with her husband Wes. Her heart was full of love to give, and she gave joyfully to several foster children, eventually adopting Emma, Abbi and Lexi. As a foster parent, she grew her family and continued being a Mom to Many.
Melissa’s home in Paragould was the hottest hangout spot for her son Tyler’s friends while he was in high school. She treated everyone he brought home as one of her own, making sure they had everything they needed, as well as providing an unbiased ear or a warm shoulder when needed. As the parent of a friend, she was once again a Mom to Many.
Melissa’s memory will be carried by hundreds of people she has personally connected with. She was kind, generous, and beloved. Truly, a Mom to Many.
A memorial service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16, at Phillips Funeral Home with Bill Muse officiating.
If one wishes to make a lasting memorial, Melissa would be honored with donations to fasdunited.org/donate/.
