Nigel Dewey Bell, 67, of Lafe, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2021. He was born April 7, 1954, to Willard and Helen Bell. Nigel was baptized on May 15, 1966. Nigel enjoyed lake life where he met his wife, Judy. They were married December 29, 1979. The adventure began! He loved his wife, kids, and grandkids dearly. From a young age, farming was dear to his heart. He was an outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. Nigel and Judy looked forward to motorcycle trips with close friends, Steve and Paula McKlesky. Nigel was a quiet man, but when he spoke, everyone listened. He was a faithful and honest man who loved his church family at St. John's Lutheran Church. Nigel was the calm in the turbulent world.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Diana Scheer; and nephew, Eric Davis Taylor.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Judy Bell; son, Caleb Bell (Tamara); daughter, Lindsay Mans (Travis); brothers, Bill Thompson (Katie), Maxie Bell (Renae), Wallace Bell (Pat); sisters, Carolyn Tate, Regina Lueker (Benny), Tammy Taylor (Scott); brother-in-law, Jerry Scheer; special sisters, Donna Tritch (Ronnie), Rachel Bell Tritch; and grandchildren, Tucker Mans, Maggie Mans, Silas Bell, Rhett Mans, and Elsie Bell.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 21, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 22, at 3:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church at Lafe with Aaron Neugebauer officiating. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
His nephews, Mike Tate, Michael Bell, Lewis Tate, III, Collin Thompson, Jason Tritch, Randy Bell, Jarrod Scheer, Stacy Tritch, and Ryan Bell will serve as pallbearers.
