Peggy Karon Maag
May 18, 1941 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 82) 82 Years Old
Peggy Karon Maag, 82, of Paragould, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2024. She was born May 18, 1941, to Olen and Reba Boyd of Beech Grove. A graduate of Greene Co. Tech High School (’59), Peggy went on to become the first female supervisor at Darling Store Fixtures. She was the bookkeeper at RGB Mechanical Contractors for more than 25 years and retired after 35 years with the company. Peggy and her husband Gale married in 1967 when she became a second mother to three young sons. The couple welcomed a daughter in 1975 and were happily married for more than 56 years. Peggy lived her life joyfully in service to others and could always be counted on at a moment’s notice. Many have enjoyed both food and fellowship at the table of Gale and Peggy, and we will all fondly remember her famous coconut and chocolate pies. She was the music leader of Beech Grove United Methodist Church for many years and a faithful member of the worship choir at East Side Baptist Church for many more. Peggy was a loving and loyal wife, mother, and friend. Words cannot express how greatly she will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Rodney and Kelley Maag; and three brothers.
Survivors include her husband Gale Maag; daughter Jennifer Adams of Wichita, KS; son, Stan (Angela) Maag of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Quinton Maag of Cave City, Reid Maag of DeQueen, Rachel Maag of Roswell, New Mexico, Zoe Maag of Jonesboro and Benjamin, Annabelle, and Emerson Adams, of Wichita, Kansas; and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 13, from 10 am until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 11 am at Phillips Funeral Home with Laramie LeQuieu officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery.
The family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation in Peggy’s name to the Henry Wrinkles Foundation of Beech Grove.
