Phyllis Gail Barber

Phyllis Gail Barber, 67, of Bono, passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, December 12, 2019. She was born September 11, 1952, to Leonard and Inez Spillman. Phyllis was a member of Refuge Assembly of God. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, listening to gospel music, and watching Jimmy Swaggart. She looked forward to early mornings sitting outside with her husband drinking coffee while bird watching. Her family was her whole life.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronnie Spillman.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Harold Barber; son and daughter in law, Kevin and Jill Barber; daughters and sons in law, Sherry Lynn and George Smith Jr., Katrina and Donald Dougan III; and grandchildren, Nick Cothern, George Smith III, Miranda Smith, Jackson Cash Barber, Dallas James Barber, Evye Dougan, Bristol Dougan, and Gage McMillin.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the Center Hill Chapel of Phillips Funeral Home with Matt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Nick Cothern, Gary Houston, Scott Swindle, Jamie Gonzalez, Kirk Douglas, and Corey Wilson will serve as pallbearers.
