Ray Bert Dowler, 73, was called home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was born February 22, 1948, to Tony and Myrtle Dowler. He is joyfully reunited with his wife, Karen, whom he loved very dearly. He was a wonderful father who loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. Ray Bert was an Army Veteran, sold hay, and ran a restaurant. He was friends with everyone in his community and his presence will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Karen Dowler; siblings, Tony, Glenda, and Rick Dowler; sister in law and brother in law, Lygia Jarrett and William Jarrett; brother in law, Steve Humphrey; and mother and father in law, Barbara Humphrey and Joe Humphrey.
Survivors include his son, Ray Dowler, Jr.; daughters, Onita Williams (Elijah), Christina Dowler; brothers, Gary Dowler (Brenda), Ronnie Dowler (Donna); sisters, Annette Chunn, Carol Kiber (Ronnie), Belinda Dowler, Vickie Finley, and Toni Rouse (Stan); grandchildren, Taylor Barnett, Tyler Barnett, Mikayla Williams, Tristen Barnett, Avery Williams, and Payton Dowler; great-grandchild, Paislee Johnson; sisters in law and brother in law, Nancy and Bobby Jarrett, Penny Westrup, and Cathy Humphrey; and a host of nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 2, from 4:00 p.m. until service time at St. John's Lutheran Church. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lafe with a meal to follow.
