Robinson Edward McClung was born to the late Clarence “Tank” McClung and Jewel Holder McClung on July 20, 1948. Robbie passed away, at the age of 71, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas on Saturday, May 23, 2020.
Robbie was a retired business owner and a veteran of the United States Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, as well as spending countless hours on his 4-wheeler, and in his shop, with his beloved four-legged children, Spider, Kane and Riley. Robbie discovered his passion for Broncos, off-roading and rock climbing later in life. He then reveled in his ability to make hearts race of those that loved him by telling stories of his daredevil adventures.
Robbie was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; his father-in-law, Jack Rogers, his mother-in-law Lucille Rogers, and his brother-in-law Captain Robert “Bubba” Rogers.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sonja Renee McClung. He has four children, Gale (Connie) McClung, Sherry (Joe) Hyde, Melanie (Doug) Matheny, and Jeremey Beasley. Robbie has five brothers and sisters, Betty (Alvie) Daniels, Steve (Alice) McClung, Brenda Sue (Terry) Forehand, Danny McClung and Dale (Darla) McClung and five beautiful grand-children, Anastasia West, Dalton West, Garrett Matheny, Heath (Sarah) Matheny, and Hunter (Caitlyn) Matheny, as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends who will forever remember Robbie’s sense of humor, boisterous laugh and infectious smile.
Robbie was an amazing husband and father and cherished his grandchildren more than anything on Earth. He loved his friends and family deeply and was quick to offer help in any way needed, a helping hand, a shoulder, or just simply by being present. He will be greatly missed by those that love him and forever remembered for his one-of-a-kind personality.
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family. Information will be released once all details are confirmed. Arrangements are in care of Phillips Funeral Home.
