Roland "Bub" Lee Gilliam

Roland “Bub” Gilliam age 58, born February 12, 1965, passed from this life on Sunday, November 5, 2023. Bub owned his own construction business and was a member of the Ridge City Church. He was a very avid hunter and fisher. Bub also had a very deep love for his family, and his cattle.

Bub is preceded in death by the parents, Roland and Shirley Gilliam; maternal grandparents, Virgil and Ola Bateman; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Velma Gilliam.

Survivors include his loving wife, Melinda Gilliam of the home; one son, Shawn (Britane) Gilliam of Brookland, Arkansas; one daughter, Schauntae Gilliam of the home; grandchildren, Celeste Gilliam of Conway, Arkansas, Celena Gilliam, Rhiley Boyd, Izzy Moss, Eli Gilliam all of Brookland, Arkansas, and Jasper Christiansen of the home; brothers and sisters, Vernon and Sherry Bateman of Paragould, Allen and Jessie Edson of Thayer, Missouri, Gary and Stacy Gilliam of Paragould, Nancy and Greg Lamar of Paragould, and Sarah and Paul White of Paragould; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles; and great-granddog, Tater Tot.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 9, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be at 9:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, at Phillips Funeral Home with Chris and Dodie Barhorst officiating.  A burial will follow at Gainesville Cemetery. 

Major Ray, Rhiley Boyd, Rocky Brown, Maliki Denton, Shawn Gilliam, and Patrick Bateman will serve as pallbearers.
