Sandra Gay Hedge

Sandra Gay Hedge, 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. She was born April 19, 1949, to L. D. And Wanda Heasley.

Sandra was a teacher’s aid, then became a teacher for Cardwell, and Oak Grove school from 1993-2013. Where she retired in 2013.

Sandra was the Greene County Fair secretary for 7 years.

Sandra raised her family in the Gainesville Church of Christ.

She also helped her late husband Travis with the miracle rodeo for 30+ yrs.

Wife, mother, nanny, sister, family member, teacher, and friend were all ways to describe Sandra. 

Sandra had many hobbies over the years from sewing, tutor, assistant to her husband with all of his many projects, artist, rock collector (which we have found is a massive collection), photographer with an eye for random traffic patterns, plants, animals, kids, grandkids, and rocks, adopting & caring for strays.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Hedge; and grandson, William Paul Clark.

Survivors include her son, William Christopher Hedge of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Laurie Ann Dollars (Allen Martin) of Paragould; sisters, Cheryl Coy of Spring Hill, TN, Melanie Hudson (Rick) of Van Buren, AR; in laws, Mike Hedge, Ida (Gary) Priest, Gail Hedge, Randy (Betty) Hedge and Noble Hedge; grandchildren, Tylor Dollars, Lauren Dollars, Cassie Dollars, Kaitlin Atkins, Savannah Hedge, Abby Cooner, Zac Hedge; great-grandchildren, Konner, Kieara, Karleigh, Kreegan, Lilly, Chan, Trendon, Liv, Brenin, Blaiklyn, and Julianna; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 11, from 2:00 p.m. until service time at Phillips Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home with Topper Killough officiating.
